From the beginnings as a talked-about retailer, Concepts exploded onto the scene as a creative powerhouse for reimagining what footwear could be. Soldier lined up relationships and brought incredible sophistication to product and presentation.

Sperry X Concepts Collaboration

Fresh colors, classic materials including cork and canvas, and a focus on street use turned a Sperry pattern into a rowdy reinterpretation of nautical style. Soldier also gleaned in depth understanding of technical sailmaking, which inspired the design direction and shoot format, then from one of the most respected sail making lofts in the North East.

Clarks Collaboration

From the sand dunes of North Africa in World War II, to the musty halls of the English department at Harvard, Clarks have stood for a lot of things. When we engaged on this shoe, Clarks became a wild expression of personal style. Python and high quality suede combined with the classic silhouette became a total mind splitter at the time in 2005, where this shoe represents the very first collaboration Concepts dropped to it’s customer base. Soldier was there at the beginning pioneering the strategy, design and path to delight and surprise the footwear community at large.

What happens when we add yet another trusted partner? Utilizing the cold-weather expertise of both Sorel and Canada Goose, we delivered a baller offering at home on the streets of Montreal, Moscow, and Reykjavik or up at camp in the northern wilderness.

Concepts x New Balance 999 "Kennedy"

Another nautical inspired shoe, influenced by the sea faring nature of the North East was quickly coined “The Kennedy” by the local sneaker community. Soldier giving inputs on shoe design, took the concept to life with a marina inspired shoot where Kennedy once sailed from himself. Soldier also designed a product capsule of apparel and accessories to amplify the Sea side expression.

Concepts x New Balance 999 S.E.A.L.

Soldier Helped concept drum up the storyline for a product capsule that could deliver the ultimate convergence of wearable waterproof packability and ground pursuit. Inspired by the role Sea and Land play in the lives we live, Soldier worked with concepts to author a unique collaboration with foundational footwear maker New Balance and the purveyors of technical garment making at Arc'teryx. Soldier took control of art direction, campaign, and social asset delivery.

Concepts x Nike SB LOBSTER

One of the most iconic sneaker drops of the last decade, and Concept's first sneaker collaboration, was a watershed moment with sneaker-heads worldwide. Soldier's contribution was expressing the New England based theme into a wearable expression of provocative style. Soldier handled the overall design of the sneaker through color, branding and patterning within the constraints of the classic Nike Dunk Low silhouette.
